John Smoot
Proven Experience
Mr. John Smoot is a Hydrogeologist with over 35 years of technical and management experience in geosciences. John can develop hydrogeologic conceptual models that pull together geographic data, numerical models, and geophysical technologies to analyze groundwater supplies. He uses his well design, drilling, and construction experience to complete the development of successful groundwater wells.
Mr. Smoot has a Ph.D. in Geology and an M.S. in Hydrology from the University of Idaho, and a B.S. in Geology from the University of Wyoming. He is also a Licensed Geologist and a Licensed Hydrogeologist in the state of State of Washington.
Sustainable Results
Mr. Smoot led the Groundwater Pump-and-Treat Technical Team to develop the well networks for the DX and HX treatment systems at CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Company. While employed at the Fluor Government Group, he prepared drilling documents for RCRA and CERCLA monitoring wells. He coordinated regulatory approvals with Washington State Dept of Ecology and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and provided technical oversight of modeling, drilling, and implementation. He also designed groundwater extraction, injection, and monitoring wells and conducted modeling studies of single-shell tank leaks and waste burial grounds at Hanford.
