Proven Experience

Sheldon Alt Sheldon Alt has over 42 years of experience across the DOE complex and commercial nuclear operations, specializing in Radiological Protection, Safety, Industrial Hygiene (IH), and Deactivation & Decommissioning (D&D) projects.  He has a proven history of strengthening team environments, improving operational efficiency, and solving complex challenges while ensuring all procedural, regulatory, and safety requirements are strictly met.

He currently manages the UCOR Safety & Health programs at the ORREC / ORNL D&D project level. This includes providing leadership direction to professional staff and ensuring continuous compliance with existing and proposed occupational safety and health regulations.  His early career involved significant hands-on technical coverage as a Senior Health Physics Technician at multiple nuclear sites. This included support for complex operations such as Reactor Start Up and operation, Reactor Refueling, Steam Generator Replacement, Core Barrel Replacement, and Spent Fuel Pool Rerack.  He also has expertise in Counter Terrorism Operations Support and Radioactive Material Shipping.

Mr. Alt has an A.S. in Radiation Protection Technology and holds an active DOE Q Clearance.
